I am a new user of the Shell Classic Start Menu in Windows 10.
I noticed pretty quickly that a function I normally use in Windows 7 is missing.

When I search for files on my computer, and then right-click on the found file, the options "Cut" and
"Copy" is there, but not "Delete". This option is available in Windows 7 and backwards.

Why doesn't this option exists in Classic Shell? Is there a setting I have missed?

Personally I think Delete should be there since the Windows 7 menu has it but Ivo hid it because he thinks it's a dangerous operation to be done from the Start Menu because the path where the item being deleted is not very obvious from the Start Menu.

I have frequently deleted files in this way in Windows 7 and backward, and become totally handicapped now when it is not possible.
Is it possible to add this as an optional alternative in the preferences?

The start menu is not a file browser. The items in the search results list files from many different places and the location of the file is not immediately obvious like it is in Explorer. It is very easy to delete the wrong thing. Right-click on the file, select Explore, and once you are certain it is the right file, delete it.

@H2SO4JB, Well I have a free, replacement file copy software installed, called PerigeeCopy (http://jstanley.pingerthinger.com/pscopy) and it comes with the ability to delete files too. You can right click search results and click PerigeeDelete or Shift+PerigeeDelete and delete them directly from the Start menu.

It shows the full path of the item being deleted (in case you want to use it):

GauravK, thanks for your tip.
But I would prefer not to install an additional program, just to be able to delete files.

Ivo, thank you for being careful with my files. :-)
But, can't you just add the ability for the user to decide whether deletion of files should be possible, or not?
This feature is as I said default in the original Microsoft Start Menu. Is not the point of Classic Shell to imitate the original Start Menu?
