Dear Developers,


I thank you guys so much for your wonderful work!! Without your software, I would be at loss when using the so called "new and improved" Windows. Personally I think the Classic Start Menu used in Windows XP is THE BEST to use. I LOVE your Classic Start Menu in your product designed for Windows 7 (which is also in the screeshots on your own website, it is photo 1 of 12, the link is below), but unfortunately the Classic Start Menu in the new software designed for Windows 10 is pretty bad and ugly, with square shading and different icons. Please do not follow the bad GUI design of Windows.


Would you please bring back your Classic Start Menu to Windows 10 Product exactly as in your Windows7 product?

That is THE BEST looking and feeling Classic Start Menu I have ever used and I loved it. I believe many people will agree with me. That is the only reason why I have been using your product instead of others.


That is perfect cosmetically and in usability. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring it back and make it exactly the same looking in your Windows 10 Product. Please do NOT change it for sake of change. When the product is perfect, no need to change it just for a newer release.

I tried to insert a screenshot into my post however it didn't seem to allow me to do so. Here is an attachment of my screenshot. As you can see, it is perfect and no need to change. Please please please bring it back to your win10 version of product!!! Thank you thank you.

To get the exact look from the screenshot, choose "Classic style" from the Start Menu Style page in the settings, then select the Windows Aero skin from the Skin page.

This wonderful Classic Start Menu is the most important reason I LOVE your product!!!

It is perfect and beautiful, NO need to change it again!!!

I absolutely love it.

Please be kind enough to bring it to back to what it was!!

@sn2002bt, On Windows 10, all previous skins and the classic look is available. You just need to change a few settings.

Open Classic Start Menu Settings as Ivo said, go to the "Start Menu style" tab and pick "Classic style" there. Then click the blue link below it "Select skin" which will take you to the Skin tab. On the Skin tab, you have to change it to "Windows Aero" from the dropdown. You can also pick "Classic skin" for an even more classic look.

Thank you so much for your quick replies. I downloaded and installed the Win10 software as being prompted, the first thing I installed is Classic Shell, just tell you how important your software is to me. I can't live without it. After I selected the Classic Start Menu and it was totally different from the old Win7 Classic Start Menu shown in my attachment, I didn't like the new Classic Start Menu at all. So I downgraded from windows 10 back to windows 7 after having played it round for 40 minutes just because of your software new looking : ) That is to say, if I don't like the feeling and looking of your Win10 version, I am not going to even upgrade to Windows 10. Again, just tell you how important and wonderful your software is.

I guess I didn't spend enough time to try all the options as GauravK advised. I will have to upgrade to win10 again to try it.


Anyways, you guys are AWESOME and thank you so much for saving the awkward Windows start menu!!! God Bless You.

You wouldn't have to upgrade to windows 10 to try it, the options should be available in windows 7 also, even if some of the defaults are different
