I've noticed recent files (win7 theme) doesn't work on windows 10 (it remains empty).
Can I set the time of showing the menu when the mouse is over the start area?
It shows too early and as I'm using autohide it's annoying.
Probably a setting I didn't find - or a registry trick will work, but not sure :)

Recent files list is maintained by Windows. Open Windows 10 Settings app (Win+i) -> Personalization -> Start. Turn on "Show recently opened items in Jump Lists on Start or the taskbar".

You can control Start menu hover time. Open Classic Start Menu settings and in its search box, type: delay. You can adjust:
- Hover delay (how long to wait after hovering over Start button before Start menu opens)
- Menu delay (how long to wait after hovering over a submenu before it expands).
