Hello, i this topic viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3349 on the first page there is this screen http://www.extremetech.com/wp-content/u ... p-apps.jpg is it possible to have this exact start menu ? I'am getting used to the widget to pin some program or so, but i would also really like to use again the "right" part of the start up menu.. the default win10 right part is absolutely useless and VERY badly made. I cant even choose pin folder, or directly menu.. etc. thanks ^^ |

Sadly neither classic shell (nor any other start menu) can reproduce that. It is the old menu for the early alpha/beta windows 10, and the only way I could think to produce it would (neither Idea would be easy for a rookie)be to download an early copy of windows 10, and copy some specific files onto a newer copy (which would likely cause other issues) @Ivo: This feature might not be to hard to implement if you didn't actually touch the Tiles UI (Windows 7 style, with nothing in the right column, and no user pic/name could theoretically lay over the windows 10 built-in menu, and so-long as you found a way to ensure it always stayed on-top it would mask the left column But I couldn't say how stable it would be ![]() |

Ivo, I don't want the exact Windows 10 menu but you can see that it is quite graphically rich. The old style textual menu is a bit boring. Maybe for apps you could show some image not the icon? I don't care about live tiles but some image with text will spice up the menu. |

damn that's suck ![]() I would have really wanted to have that early win10build menu ![]() Or... having the widget + the "windows7 left side function like" like beeing able to pin stuff, having menu.. etc ![]() I wish a such menu exist. Sure the win7 menu is great, but.. well, finaly i pretty much like the widget and would like to keep them. |

Something similar to small tiles might be achievable.. (ofcourse it wont be drag/drop and if you want matching icons, your going to have to make them..) With the right skin, and icons it could look pretty close... (though It would only work with the classic/classic with 2 column styles) Ive attached a screenshot..
