I needed to clear room for Windows 10 on my SSD. I used some software to delete some files from C:\Windows\Installer that apparently caused Classic Shell to give an error when trying to uninstall it. I installed Windows 10, and Classic Shell is still there. I do not see Classic Shell in the list of programs. When I right click it says it is version 4.2.1. So I install it. Then, I uninstall it and it appears to uninstall. But, when I reboot, it's back. Are there changes I could manually make to the registry so that Windows 10's start menu shows up, and does not try to load Classic Shell? |

You should not delete the files in the Installer folder. That's where Windows keeps the uninstallers. If all you want is to stop Classic Shell from running on startup, go to the General Behavior tab in the settings and uncheck "Start automatically for this user".
