Hi.
I'm sure it's just a setting I overlooked. Any help will be appreciated.
Here's my problem.
I'm using Classic Start Menu Version 4.1.0 with Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit.
I love the the start menu using the shell orb, but I want to boot directly into Metro Start screen, NOT the desktop.

Classic Start Menu Settings, "General Behavior" tab:
"Start automatically for this user" this box is checked.

Classic Start Menu Settings, "Windows 8.1" tab:
"Skip Metro Screen" this box is not checked.

It still boots directly to desktop. I want to go directly to Metro, while still using Classic Start Menu.
Thanks for your help.

Right click the Taskbar -> Properties. Go to the Navigation tab and make sure the option "When I sign in or close all apps on a screen, go to the Desktop instead of Start" is unchecked. It should be unchecked because on Windows 8.1, unchecking "Skip Metro screen" does the same thing.

Classic Shell only runs code to switch to the Desktop on Windows 8.0, not 8.1. On Windows 8.1, it just respects the Windows setting. Are you sure the loading of the Classic Shell Start Menu is causing it to go to the desktop? Temporarily uncheck "Start automatically for this user" from the General Behavior tab in the settings. If it continues switching to the Desktop, then it is some other program that does it.
