Seems there are multiple options for start menu entries; e.g. User/AppData/Roaming/Microsoft/Windows/Start Menu or Program Data/AppData/Roaming/Microsoft/Windows/Start Menu. In going through all the possible Start Menu possibilities, for housekeeping purposes, it would nice to cut and paste ALL start menu entries and programs into the best folder Classic uses. Where is that folder located? Thank you in advance. |

I'm not sure what the question is. The folder is located in the path that you listed above. There are two of them because one is per user and the other is global for all users. Some installers ask if you want to install the software for the current user or for all, and will create their shortcuts in one of the two folders. The start menu shows the combined contents of the two folders. If they contain a folder with the same name, that folder is combined too. |

Thank you for the reply. After some experimentation this morning, it appears as though whatever changes are made (using explorer) in the C:\Program Data/AppData/Roaming/Microsoft/Windows/Start Menu are faithfully reproduced by Classic Start Menu. I went to every Start Menu folder on the machine (and there are many), cut and pasted every shortcut entry from where ever it was to C:/Program Data/AppData/Roaming/Microsoft/Windows/Start Menu. Clutter cleaned. Orphans deleted. Everything is now organized nice and tidy. Again, thank you. |
