In short, I'd like to hide the "Search" shortcut in the start menu. It hides all the other metro apps, but not this one. Is there a way to do this? http://imgur.com/0TRXJAQ |

You can try hiding the shortcut. Right-click -> Properties -> Hidden. I don't recommend deleting it. The shortcut is most likely used by the system to support the search features. |

If only it were that simple. It does not allow me to do so, the same way it blocks you hiding the other metro apps that way. http://imgur.com/Vt5OaDD |

Ugh. Windows is trying to be sneaky. See if you can do it from a command prompt using the "attrib" command. If that doesn't work, you are out of luck, unless you want to try deleting it (or moving it someplace safe). |

I guess I am out of luck. ![]() No way to get classic shell to hide it like it can the other apps? |
