Hey,

So i work at a college P-12 and I'm creating an image for our older XP machines that cannot run Windows 7, but run Windows 8 fine. I have got the settings to work (Kind of) but its still got some issues.

I found that if i had the Skipmetro setting activated, some users (teachers with roaming profiles) would not reach the desktop properly, it would show them the a black screen with a blank taskbar.

i made a video of issue, I added the correct settings HKCU to the default account with the "Copy profile" setting when capturing the image. But it randomly glitches for new user logins.

can you explain what you are trying to do? its a Metro Problem? You dont want to enter Metro settings at all after booting into an Image created from a fresh install that was set to skip Metro settings?

Could it be that you need to go through the process of creating some default settings then create a new Image?

I've never used this, but may be worth a try before you make your Image: Metro UI Tweaker

how did you copy the profile? from which locations? I can totally see just copying the profile folder for use on another computer not working at all.. or having this problem

how did you deploy the copied profile to all the computers?

was it a profile you set up, and then copied from the first computer to each of the other computers?

and is the problem that when setting that profile to load its not working because you skipped the metro settings?

maybe the fact that you skipped the settings is also stored in your profile, so there's a conflict when trying to skip settings again on the computer you copied the profile to
