Post subject:  Classic Start Menu: Populate from Start Menu folder

How do I get the program to populate the left-hand column (classic view) from programs listed in the Start Menu folder? And how do I control the shortcuts for these (other than by changing the first letters via Rename)?

Thank you!

Right-click on a program and select "Pin to start menu (Classic Shell)" to add it to the main menu.
Drag and drop the shortcuts with the mouse to change their order.

Hey, it worked! Thank you!

One follow-up question: Do I have to navigate to the executable and pin that, or can I pin any shortcut just as well?

It is actually recommended to pin shortcuts. If you pin EXEs directly then the jumplists will not work.
