Post subject: | How to get chronological order of programs the way I opened |
The taskbar in Win XP works like this: I open a program it will be the first icon on the LEFT in my taskbar. The next program I open will be NEXT to the first icon. The third program I open will be on the right next to the second icon and so on. I will know what program I have opened first. Now I am using Classic Shell under Win 8.1 and it's pretty confusing to me because some programs will appear on the left when I open them, some in the middle of other icons and some on the very right as if they were the last opened icons. It's all scattered and I see no logic in there. It's just confusing. Can I get program icons appear in a chronological order the way I've opened them like it always used to be like in Win XP? Thanks a lot |

This is not a Classic Shell issue. Classic Shell does not implement the desktop or the taskbar: http://www.classicshell.net/faq/#general_whatnot The problem you have is because some programs are already pinned to the taskbar, which fixes their position. Just unpin them all and you'll get the XP behavior. For even better taskbar experience, look for a program called "7+ Taskbar Tweaker": http://rammichael.com/7-taskbar-tweaker |
