Post subject:  How To Remove Certain Links From 'Classic Style' Menu?

Hi,

I have downloaded Classic Shell on my Windows 8.1 machine to replace Start Menu 8 which i didn't like. Overall Classic Shell is much better but i have one problem, when using the 'Classic Style' menu, it shows many unwanted links such as Help & Support, Search and Programs. Is there any way to remove these links? I have tried right clicking them but no context menu appears. It would be great if i could remove these links because they take up a significant amount of space which could be used for other shortcuts.

Thanks.

In Classic styles you can hide individual special items from the Special Items tab in the settings. You can hide the search box from the Search Box tab.
You can also completely reorganize the menu from the Customize Start Menu tab.

I don't recommend removing the Programs item because that's where all the programs are.

Thanks for the response. It took me a few moments to figure out how to reach the Special Items tab, but i soon realised that clicking the 'Show All Settings' check-box bought up many other options which i didn't even know existed! From here i was able to remove some of those links i spoke about the other day. Thanks for your help once again.
