I changed the MS user account picture at Outlook.com but the old image is still showing when I start up Windows 8. How can I get it to show new image? What is the file path to this image and perhaps I can change it there? Thanks for any help. :)

Can you set the image from 'PC Settings', and not through Outlook.com?

Thanks for reply. No, I had tried doing that in PC settings but it would not let me click the button to get changing the image, no idea why but nothing happens when I click on it. I finally found the image used in the system folders but it had no .bmp or .jpg extension on it, so nothing I could do there.

I'll have a look around other Windows 8 help sites to see if a fix can be found as I know this problem hasn't anything to do with Classic Shell but thanks for trying to help. :)

It isn't related to Classic Shell but this fix might work: http://www.askvg.com/fix-cant-change-lo ... windows-8/ if you are setting the user picture from PC Settings for a local account.

If you are using a Microsoft Account (not a local one), then the picture can be changed by going to http://profile.live.com
