Are you able to remove the item from the Taskbar jumplist when Remote Desktop appears on the Taskbar? If not then somehow your jumplists got corrupted. Jumplist items are stored at: C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\CustomDestinations and C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\AutomaticDestinations Clear these folders and all jumplist items will be reset/deleted. |

Thanks for reply It seems the taskbar jump list is unaffected and also corrects the jump list on start menu. However the jump list on start menu still wont remove the added IP address or add new ones. I checked for that folder but it doesn't exist, at least not on Win8.1? |

They are hidden folders. Try copy pasting this into the Run dialog: %appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\CustomDestinations %appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\AutomaticDestinations Then after deleting the files, restart Explorer.exe or log out and login again. |
