Hmm let's address your issues one by one although some of them are not clear.
Classic Start Menu as of this version shows only recently used programs. It does not implement frequently used yet, but a future may add it. Thanks for the suggestion.
"Pin to this list" function always fails? It works for me. What do you mean it fails? What happens? Does right clicking and selecting "Pin to this list" work?
Jumplists will only be synchronized if the AppID of both is the same. Every program in Windows is assigned an AppID. To correct this, unpin the Notepad from your Windows Start Menu. Then right click the Notepad pinned in your Classic Start Menu and click "Pin to Start Menu" which will re-pin it to the Windows 7 Start menu. Now compare the jump lists. They should be the same.
What do you mean sorting of left column? The MRU/MFU lists are not sorted by any other order. Do you mean re-ordering items in jumplists using drag and drop? That is not yet supported, may be in the future.
You are right about the minimum width. That changes according to the longest name. Classic Start Menu only allows setting a maximum width. To set a minimum width, you can do a trick. Go to "Customize Start Menu" tab, and double click any item defined for the left column e.g. ProgramsMenu. In its Label field, add as many spaces as you want and at the end, after adding the spaces, add an ampersand(&). e.g. "Programs" should become "Programs &". The greater the number of spaces you insert, the minimum width will adjust accordingly. You could use similar trick for sub-menus. Also, the maximum width set on Menu Look tab "Main menu width" and "Sub-menu width" must be greater than minimum width or else you will get "...." at the end of the name.
The "All columns are same size" setting affects only sub-menus, not the main menu. It means that the columns in a sub-menu will be equivalently sized, one column won't be narrow, and the other wide. Maybe we should make that clear that it's only for sub-menus.
