Post subject: | Program Icons disappear in pinned folders |
Hi Folks, Need some help getting around this: 1. I drag and drop a new folder in to Classic Start Menu 2. I drag and drop a program icon into that new folder 3. A copy of the folder and menu icon automatically appears on the desktop 4. If I trash that desktop copy, the menu icon in the folder that is pinned to the CSM DISAPPEARS... I've tried every conceivable setting in CSM, all to no avail. So, how can I get around this and add program icons to pinned folders without this happening? It's driving me nuts! Any suggestions would be much appreciated. |

Looks like you placed a shortcut to the desktop folder inside the start menu. If you hold down Control while dragging, the start menu will get a copy (a new folder), and not just a shortcut. |

Classic Shell has no functionality which will duplicate Start Menu pinned shortcuts on the desktop. You must have added the Desktop folder to the Start Menu and dragged inside it. ![]() You can remove the shortcut to the Desktop and instead create a new folder directly inside the Start Menu by right clicking the Start button -> Open. |
