Apologies if this has been asked before but a quick search did not reveal anything.

Is it possible to install Classic Shell to an alternative drive, such as D:? I need to save space on my 64GB solid state Windows system drive and try to install new programmes elsewhere.

Thanks for the help.

Actually, maybe I am not so silly :?

If you only want to install ClassicShell and not ClassicExplorer or ClassicIE (which was the case for me), the option to install to another drive is greyed out. I guess that ClassicShell has to be installed to the Windows drive in order to load at boot time.

Still, it only uses 9MB so my precious 64GB system drive can cope with that.

I think the location can only be changed if you select the top "Classic Shell" node.

You probably mean you want to install only the Classic Start Menu, and not Classic Explorer or Classic IE. Classic Shell is the name of the suite that includes all three.

In that case, you must click on the button next to Classic Explorer and choose "Entire feature will be unavailable". Do the same for Classic IE. Then click to select "Classic Shell" or "Classic Start Menu" so that the option to change the path becomes available again.
