i'd like to completely stop using explorer.exe; i'm using total commander for file management; i'm using klavier for shortcut keys; and alt-tab is enough for task switching. the only item i need is a Start Menu; but i couldn't run classic-shell without explorer.exe running. i tried from command line: C:\Program Files\Classic Shell\ClassicStartMenu.exe -open - didn't work when explorer.exe was terminated - worked with explorer.exe running in background. i can set "klavier" to execute most shortcut keys, but i prefer the standard win button. is there a way to run classic menu without explorer? Thanks! |

No, the start menu is designed to run inside the Explorer process. |
