Post subject: | Problem configuring start menu |
I am running on Windows 8 but am used to Windows 7, so I chose that option. I have looked through all the settings but I cannot see where one changes the number of recent programs. (I'm not referring to recent items). In Windows 7 I had the start menu configured for a height of 15 items, so the whole start menu went about half way up the screen, with a good long list of previously run programs immediately available to run with one click. Can you help please? (I have also tried Start8, which has this option.) |

Look at "Max recent programs" near the bottom of the Special Items tab. |

Thanks. I've set it to 20. How do I get them in alphabetical order? I tried unticking "Show recent programs on top" but that didn't seem to do anything? |

They are always in order of use, most recent at the top. You can reverse the order if you use "-20". |

It might be an idea for a new option? I thought I had seen a start menu working like this. |
