Hi all together, this is my first post here and therefore I ask you to pardon any mistake I'm making. Thank you! My search here and also with Google did not answer my question; therefore here my problem: Yesterday I installed Windows 7 pro x64 the first time on my new Laptop and then the Classic Shell 4.1.0. A real great program, I already like it! But unfortunately upon each new start of Windows the Classic Start Menu is gone and I have to call up once the settings (without doing any change) and then I have the Classic Menu. Is there a way to get Windows automatically started with the the Classic Menu or is it really necessary to "re-activate" it after each login? I can imagine - but did not test it - that it could work by creating an autostart-item "classicstartmenu.exe -toggle" or ".... -togglenew", does it? It would be really great getting a little help here to get the Classic Start Menu automatically being present upon each login. 1000 Thanks in advance and have a nice weekend, Peter |

Just create a shortcut to C:\Program Files\Classic Shell\ClassicStartMenu.exe and copy-paste it to your Startup folder at C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup Normally this should not be required. There is a setting called "Start automatically for this user" on the General Behavior tab of Start Menu settings so the menu is supposed to start automatically. If the setting is checked, you could try unchecking it once, and checking it again. |

@GauravK Thanks a lot for your hint. Now I found it and it works fine. The reason was, that the English wording is translated wrong to German. The German wording correctly should read: "Für diesen Benutzer automatisch starten". The now used German wording would mean in English: "Login this user automatically upon start". This could be misunderstood.... Kind regards, Peter |
