Before doing the update the Win tile page did not show on startup, opened at Desktop

now after doing the update in Win 8 it opens and loads all the tiles and then the Desktop opens.

How can I fix this? so that it opens at the desktop ?

Your expert help would be appreciated.

Are you saying that you see the tiles for a moment and then go to the desktop? How long does it take for the desktop to show?

Manually uninstall version 4.0.4 first from the control panel. If you get errors about permissions, download the installer 4.0.4 and use the Remove option. If that also doesn't work, run the installer for 4.0.4 as admin.
Once you uninstalled 4.0.4, restart and then install 4.1.0.

Hi Ivo, I did as you suggested and on delete from Control Panel I get the same permissions problem so I re-installed 4.0.4 and used the remove tab and still the same permission problem, I then did not have CS on my system (Win8) so I reinstalled ver 4.0.4 but i still cannot instal ver 4.1.0

Right click version 4.0.4's installer and choose "Run as administrator" and then uninstall/remove it. Does that work without errors? After that download 4.1.0 and run its installer. Also, please state your OS. Is it Windows 8 or Windows 8.1?

You can try manually deleting the contents of the Program Files\Classic Shell folder. Before you do that exit the start menu (right-click on the start button, then Exit). If you have problems deleting the ClassicExplorer dlls, rename them and then restart.

Hopefully after deleting all files the uninstaller will succeed.
