I want to bold the desktop icon fonts, but not menu icon fonts.

Is there a way to isolate desktop icon fonts from menu icon fonts?

Is this something which could be added to the Classic Shell?

Yes it is possible. Which Windows OS are you running? For Windows 8, go to Control Panel -> Display and under the "Change only the text size" section, select Icons and check the box next to Bold and click Apply. It will not affect the Start menu fonts but note that it will also affect all Explorer icons.

For Windows 7, go to Personalization Control Panel -> Window color -> Advanced Appearance. Select "Icons" and change them to Bold.

Thank you. I am using Win 7, with Classic Shell.
There is an item called Personalization in Control panel, but no item within Personalization called Appearance.

Within Personalization I can see Widow Color, and within that is an item called Icons, which does change the desktop icons when bolded, BUT it also changes the items within the Classic shell control panel to bold also? Can I assume you use the same icon pararmeters for Desktop as you do for Control Panel?

Classic Shell is only the Start Menu and some add-ins for Explorer+IE. The Desktop, Control Panel, Windows Explorer etc are still part of Windows.

Yes, bolding the text for "Icons" will affect it everywhere except the Start Menu.
