Most probably because I mixed up everything
I did some searching, and apparently the classic theme is gone from windows 8. WTF. So is there any way to get back the classic taskbar? (okay, maybe this thread is misplaced now...)

So I received a new PC with Win 8 at work and started tweaking it. I used the same Classic Start Menu settings as on my Win7 machine, but I can't seem to get the "normal" classic taskbar. It's big and high and ugly. Am I missing a setting in Classic Start Menu or in the Windows Theme? |

The start menu and the taskbar are two different things. Why do you expect changing the start menu settings to affect the look or size of the taskbar? Aside from the "Disable taskbar transparency" setting, Classic Shell has no control over the taskbar. |

No, there is no way to get back the Windows Classic theme on Windows 8. Someone created a mod of the High Contrast theme to look like Classic: http://www.deviantart.com/art/Windows-C ... -372853688 but it doesn't look authentic and only works with Windows 8.0, not Windows 8.1. |
