Firstly what a great utility this is!

I had it working brilliantly on Windows 2008R2 and Windows 2012 Terminal Server. I was using v3.9.3 and with the HKCU registry key achieved to lock down the Start Menu to my liking.

I am trying to do the same with Windows 2012R2 Terminal server with v4.1.0. I know there is introduction of Group Policy templates - but I don't think it covers custom start menu?

So I am using the registry method for non admin users. Below is my settings, however right click doesn't seem to be disabled. When a user right clicks on the start button they still get settings, open, open all users etc.

Along with the registry below I have set the Enable Right Click to Disabled in the group policy of Classic Start Menu.

Appreciate any help feedback you can provide.

To disable right click (context menu) inside the Start Menu, you must add the DWORD value: "EnableContextMenu" and set it to 0.
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\IvoSoft\ClassicStartMenu\Settings]
"EnableContextMenu"=dword:00000000

To disable the right click menu of the Start button, you need to disable items in it individually.

To hide Open and Open All verbs, you must add the DWORD value: "EnableExplorer" and set it to 0.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\IvoSoft\ClassicStartMenu\Settings]
"EnableExplorer"=dword:00000000

To disable the Settings item, there is a global setting "EnableSettings" at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\IvoSoft\ClassicStartMenu. Set it to 0 in the registry to prevent the users from even opening the Settings dialog:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\IvoSoft\ClassicStartMenu]
"EnableSettings"=dword:00000000

You must exit and restart CSM for changes to take effect. To exit use this command line:
"C:\Program Files\Classic Shell\ClassicStartMenu.exe" -exit

Then start it again from C:\Program Files\Classic Shell\ClassicStartMenu.exe

To disable the Help item, rename or delete the Help file inside C:\Program Files\Classic Shell.

Hi Ivo & Gaurav

Thanks for the quick reply.

I want to disable right click on the CSM for non admin users - as you can see from the registry keys above - I have disabled this. All other settings get applied for non admin users as per the registry above.

Only the right click is not disabled.

How do I disable the right click on the start menu for non admin users?

In the original message you ask to disable the "right click for the start button". Then you are talking about "right click on the start menu". These are two different things. Which one do you need?
