hi there,

i'd like to have it so that classic shell only loads for one user (me) on the many servers i manage.

i don't want it to appear for any other users, otherwise my boss keeps on uninstalling it and telling me i should learn the new interface.

previously there was a registry entry i could modify so that it wouldn't load, and then i could just put a shortcut to the classic shell into my startup folder. i know it's slow, but i'll live with it.

so if you could let me know if there is still a registry entry i can modify to disable it automatically running, i'd appreciate it

regards
andrew

Try this:
In HKLM\Software\IvoSoft\ClassicStartMenu create a DWORD named "AutoStart_Default" and set it to 0
In HKCU\Software\IvoSoft\ClassicStartMenu\Settings create a DWORD named "AutoStart" and set it to 1
This will block the start menu for all users except this one. Of course test it on another user to verify that here is no start menu before your boss find out.
