Hello,

I Cannot delete invalid ftp link in Classic Start Menu. If I right-click or try to run it, Windows Explorer locks up. Is there a folder source for the menu contents, like the original Start Menu. How can I remove the entry???

The folders are still maintained by Windows, two of them, Classic Shell merely shows their contents:
%AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu
%ProgramData%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu

Try to delete it from Explorer using right click. It Explorer still locks up or crashes, then it may be some context menu shell extension.

Try to use the Delete key and see if it works. Delete key also works inside the menu. To find out which context menu shell extension is causing Explorer to hang/crash, try capturing a dump using this method: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=6

Thanks, GauravK
That got it!

The path was a little different in Win7, but search got me right there.
I couldn't do anything from the menu without crashing, but del worked fine in Explorer.
Could Classic Shell be programmed to check the validity of the link before committing...probably too much overhead, maybe.
I love this Start Menu replacement!

Unfortunately it is not possible to know if some operation is going to crash before running it.
