So, I'm just on my laptop here and decided to update to thee latest Classic Shell.. and after the upgrade it asked me which style I wanted, and all the settings seem to have been reverted to default.. all my customizations are gone, etc.. I have a backup, except i just finished arranging my FileLocatorPro settings to AgentRansack in my custom search box, which took a few minutes to complete, and didnt back that up before updating so i have to go through that again anyway, it would be cool if it would keep my settings.. i thought previous versions did, anyway, just a suggstion.. thanks for the program. still one of the best for windows.. couldnt live without it really |

There is a bug in version 4.0.4 that it may lose settings if you upgrade from 3.6.8 directly to 4.0.4. You can go back to 3.6.8, export the settings to XML file, then import them to the new version. |

ah, that's what I did,... quite a jump I guess.. how can I go back to 3.6.8? just reinstall it from an old installer? do you have previous versions executables archived? Anyway, I already just fixed my Search parameters for Agentransack Portable, and had the backup of Classic Explorer, which lost settings as well.. so i'm good, luckily thanks |

Uninstall the newest Classic Shell first that you have installed. Older versions are archived here: http://classicshell.net/downloads/ You could upgrade from Classic Shell 3.6.8 to 4.0.2 and then to 4.0.4. |

Upgrading to 4.0.2 will only help if you change a setting (any setting) while you are using that version. |

This bug is fixed in 4.0.5 so the settings should get migrated. |
