I am looking for a way to completely lock down the start menu, currently i have it locked down except for the ability to delete icons off the menu using the delete key on the keyboard, any ideas on how i can kill that? |

You should adjust the permissions of the start menu folders to not allow deleting. |

If you don't remove the permissions, the users will always find ways to work around your blocks. You need to lock the permissions for the standard users and then use an admin account to do modifications. |

i'm using this in a pos environemnt and the software we use won't allow use to run with a standard user, we have been very successful locking them out in the xp world, but getting to 7 has been problematic with how the windows 7 start menu operates |

If you let me access your computer as admin, there is nothing you can do to prevent me from deleting whatever I want. Plugging individual holes in the user interface will not make you more secure. If you can make modifications in dos then so can I. |

very true, but, the user does not have access to a command prompt, this is tried and true method in the xp world, I just wanted to know if classicshell its self had an option i was missing to disable the delete button completely inside of the start menu |
