Post subject:  Customize Start Menu tab?

Maybe I'm blind but.....

I'm looking to add custom folders to the Classic Start menu.

I want to add an empty folder (or menu item) to which I can drag other programs so that I can select them in a sub menu.

For example, I'd like to create a menu item called "Video Apps". I'd like to have this menu item open a sub menu to which I can drag all my Video programs. i.e. It would work the same way as the "Programs" item on the start menu.

I've fiddled with the "Settings/Customize Start Menu" setting but I can't seem to get it right.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

You need to create an empty folder somewhere, then add it to the start menu like this: http://www.classicshell.net/faq/#menu_folder

Classic Start Menu supports several ways of adding custom items of your choice. One way is to right click the Start button, click Open or Open All Users and paste or create shortcuts inside the Programs folder. You could create a Video Apps folder there in Explorer, and drag shortcuts there.

Another way is to add a Custom Command from the "Customize Start Menu" tab. The Custom Item can be a Link to a file or folder or a Command with parameters.

A third way to add items is to directly drag them over the Start button, wait for the menu to open and drop them where you want to add them. So you could also create a folder anywhere with shortcuts to Video apps and then just drag that folder to the Start menu.

WOW! Thank-you for the fast reply!

Got it! I was missing the necessity to link it to a folder that I had to previously create.

BTW - This program is awesome. I have been extremely frustrated with the lack of a traditional start menu in Win 8. This program is just the ticket!
