Oh ok you mean the highlighting in the Start Menu. Yes you can turn it off.

1. Right click the Start button and click Settings.
2. In the search box at the top of the settings window, type: highlight
3. Uncheck the setting: "Highlight newly installed programs" and click OK.

It is a feature to show you newly installed program and app shortcuts. Once you launch the shortcut from the menu, the highlight goes away automatically.

@fares-302, from the screenshot it looks like you are using the Classic skin of the Start menu along with some custom Windows theme. For the Classic skin, colors can be changed in Control Panel -> Personalization -> Color -> Advanced Appearance (if you are using Windows 7).

For other Start menu skins, the colors are defined in the skin itself. If the Skin tab in Start Menu Settings does not have an option, you will have to edit the skin yourself.

thanks for your reply, i actually have windows 10 pro, and i've applied windows classic theme form https://newagesoldier.com/windows-95-th ... indows-10/ but since my computer is running this theme i'm unable to change colors in (control panel/ personalization/ color) because the check-box options are faded (check screenshot attached)
the classic skin in classic shell doesn't have the option to change color, all i need is to make the startup look like the original windows 95 (check pic below)
any idea how to change the white color to grey in my case ?! any help would be much appreciated
