If you are talking about the font in the start menu, you can change that by editing the skin file.

If you are talking about some other font, then I don't know.

Thanks. Actually I found that using "no skin" uses the system font (rather than forcing Segoe, as all of the skins), which is what I want.

If you are interested in how to edit the font in the skin, you will need the freeware called Resource Hacker. (http://www.angusj.com/resourcehacker/) Install and open Resource Hacker. Copy the skin you want to modify to somewhere else like Desktop from C:\Program Files\Classic Shell\Skins, then open the .skin or .skin7 file in Resource Hacker. Search for the text "Font" using Ctrl+F. The search will show you all the fonts used in the skin file. Modify the name properly and save the skin. Better to rename the skin to avoid it getting replaced when Classic Shell is updated. Then put it back in C:\Program Files\Classic Shell\Skins

What about changing the font size?
I edited a skin to replace the origial Segoe II font but i can't change the font size, even if i edit the fontsize value to something smaller like 8 (original 10).
I've been looking through the tutorial but that is not much of a help since the fontsize seems to be locked at 10 somehow...

Font size can also be changed by editing the skin in Resource Hacker. It's right next to the font name. :) The font size can be negative or positive. A negative size measures the character height and a positive size measures the cell height of the font. Since the cell is usually taller than a character, a font size -10 is usually slightly larger than 10.

Make sure you edit it correctly (there isn't just one font related value but many):

Main_font="Segoe UI",normal,-10

Change it correctly to:

Main_font="Arial",normal,-8

Also, if you are directly modifying the skin inside C:\Program Files\Classic Shell\Skins instead of copying it over somewhere else, then make sure Resource Hacker is running as administrator (since everything under Program Files is UAC protected). It's also better to exit the Classic Start Menu if you are modifying a skin which is in use by the Start Menu.

I did read that (same text already in the "how to"...) but i have no clue what is ment by cell height. Is this the font + the space above and below the character?

It's a typography term. Cell height=internal leading+character height. Internal leading is the space above/below a character to fit in extra glyph features such as accents. That is why character height is less taller.
