Should I uninstall Classic Shell 4.0 before I upgrade to Windows 8.1 from Windows 8? I wasn't sure how the new functionality in Windows 8.1 would affect my current Windows 8 Classic Shell installation. I'd prefer to leave Classic Shell right where it is and simply install 8.1. Thanks. |

It is likely that if you install 8.1 in place then Classic Shell will stop working. This is because the upgrade process wipes out parts of the registry where Classic Shell is installed. If it doesn't work after the upgrade, run the installer again and choose the Repair option. |
