I'm new to Windows 8 and Classic Shell. Metro was very frustrating for me and Classic Shell relieved much of the pain. However, I can't find a way to change the User photo except by using the camera. Trying to "browse" to find photos just causes a brief, unreadable message or toolbar at the bottom of the screen and then nothing. I'm back at the same Change Account Picture app. I read another topic that suggested that a third-party app called Pokki was responsible--I do not have this on my system. However, I did change many of the default settings to have desktop apps open files instead of the Metro apps. Don't know if this is the result of installing Classic Shell but I would not uninstall it just because of this problem. Is there a work-around to change the user account picture without using PC Settings? |
