Hi, If I recall correctly, there used to be a setting that let me enable the display of the item location in a tooltip when I hovered the mouse cursor over it. Also, if I recall correctly, the tool tip for the setting even suggested against its use, but I turned it on anyway to see if I liked it. Since then, I've come to realize that I don't like it. The tool tip containing the location just obscures my view of the menu items. Unfortunately, I can no longer find the control that lets me disable that feature. Did I have control of this feature in an earlier version of Classic Start Menu, and now it's gone? If so, I figure I'll either need to downgrade to the older version of Classic Start Menu so I can turn it off, then re-upgrade to the current Classic Start Menu, or I'll need to figure out what setting in the registry controls this feature and turn it off. Thanks for any help you can provide, Who |

You are probably talking about "Infotip delay (for folder)". It is in the General Behavior tab. Right-click on it and reset it to the default. |

Thanks! That did it. I was thinking it was controlled through a enable/disable check box type of thing. Didn't consider setting the delays to zero. (Disappear delay = 0: Disappears immediately, AKA never appears). |

Beta 3.9.0 on Win8 Very minor. There is something a bit odd with the infotips, even when disabled. Win 7 style still show them in Windows links, like pc settings, calculator, etc. I'm glad the behavior of the infotips, inside the Settings for Classic Menu remains the same, as they provide a lot of answers. |

Well, when I get the tooltip text from the system there is no way for me to know if it is something useful or not. So there is only an option to display it or not. There can't be an option "show the tooltip if the text looks interesting". |

I'll try and say it another way. I'm not the best communicator. Ok, here goes. If I disable the infotips in "Classic style" and "Classic with two columns style", then the infotips don't show in the menu, or submenus. Good. If I disable the infotips in "Windows 7 Style", they still show up in the Window's Accessories, Windows System, Windows Accessories submenus. Bad. No big deal, just funny inconsistency between the styles. The other comment I made, is giving thanks for incorporating the infotips, see picture, in the setting up tabs, eg. "General Behavior", "Customize Start Menu". As these have a different behavior, showing up regardless of settings. They provide a lot of useful information for customizing the menu. Thanks. ![]()

What do you mean by "show up in the Windows Accessories"? Do you see a tooltip for the folder itself, or the shortcuts inside the folder? |

Hi. I think they are called infotips. Maybe means the same thing. They display for the shortcuts inside the folders only. Retried a few times now, after restarting exe. Same.

The infotip settings currently only control the menu items. The programs are in a tree control, which has its own rules about tips. I will try to get it to follow the same settings. |
