I am using rdp to connect to my windows 2012 r2 64 bit server. When the ClassicShell settings window comes up, I select "Windows 7 / Windows Vista" Start menu shell. I get prompted if I am sure I want this change. I click ok. Then I ok out of the settings menu. But the Start menu remains "Windows Classic". I've done this about 4 times and no joy. Can someone provide some insights as to why windows 2012 is being so difficult? I'm using CS 3.6.8 . How do I force windows 7 / vista start menu shell instead of the windows classic start menu? I am happy just to have any start menu, but I would like to have the win 2008 style menu back please. In the mean time, thanks. |

There are 2 separate things here: style and skin. The style preselects some of the settings, like the menu items. I'm guessing your server runs a Classic theme, so the start menu chooses a classic skin by default. You can change the skin from the Skin tab in the settings. |
