I'm running Windows 8 Pro and this program worked great up to about last weekend. Now when I log into a user name it won't launch automatically and I'll see Windows 8 start screen with the apps instead. I don't remember changing any setting to change this. Under setting I have a check beside skip metro screen Check under Enable Start Screen I'm not sure where else to check for the problem. thanks in advance.

Open Services.msc and make sure the Classic Shell service is set to Automatic. If it is set to Manual, set it to Automatic and make sure it is started.
If it still does not start on time, merge this to the registry (only if the above mentioned service fails to skip the Start screen) and assuming your Classic Shell is installed to C:\Program Files\:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon] "TaskMan"="C:\\Program Files\\Classic Shell\\ClassicStartMenu.exe"

GauravK thank you for your help. In the Services menu it was set to Automatic but the service status was set to Disabled. I hit Start and ok exited out of the menu and logged off my windows account, signed back on and it loaded Classic Shell. Thanks again.

@ROBLOX_puffles, the service was for an older version. There is no service in the latest version. If Classic Start Menu is not starting automatically for you, go to the General Behavior tab in Start Menu Settings and make sure "Start automatically for this user" option is checked.
If it still isn't starting, go to C:\Program Files\Classic Shell from Windows Explorer. Create a shortcut to C:\Program Files\Classic Shell\ClassicStartMenu.exe and copy-paste the shortcut in your Startup folder at C:\Users\<USER NAME>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\.
