I am testing classic shell for RDS 2012 users working really great with few issues,

1, its asking users to customize start button when they login first time, I like this settings to be default forced for each users
2, like to hide control panel and Administrative tools from the all programs

Basically want to lock it down so that regular users can do their work and not affect server settings.

I have extracted Policydefination to the GPOs but could not find the settings that will force Initial settings for all users when the click on start button.

Please help,

1. The setting you need is "Menu style". If it is set through the GPO then the start menu won't ask you to pick a style

2. There is no control panel in all programs

3. You can hide the administrative tools by making the folder hidden

You can use these: Start Menu folder, Programs folder, Common Start Menu folder, Common Programs folder. For best results keep the Programs as a sub-folder of Start Menu.

There is also a global setting "EnableSettings" at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\IvoSoft\ClassicStartMenu. Set it to 0 in the registry and restart the menu to prevent the users from opening the Settings dialog.

To remove Disconnect and Settings items in the Classic style, go to the Customize Start Menu tab and delete those items from left column.
