I really like this skin and it worked fine with Win8, but ever since I updated to Win 8.1, it is no longer transparent. I even tried a different video card. I've selected 'Show all settings' / Menu Look. Enable Aero Glass is checked. Is there another setting I'm over looking?

The setting "Enable Aero Glass (requires Aero Glass mod)" should be unchecked on Windows 8.1 for the Smoked Glass skin to be transparent. It should be enabled only if you have installed the commercial project for Windows 8 by that name: http://www.glass8.eu/ which brings back Windows 7 like glass.

The Smoked Glass skin is transparent on Windows 8.1. Maybe you disabled some system setting that controls transparency.

He said he turned on the Aero Glass setting. Turning it on in Windows 8.1 makes skins non-transparent if the Aero Glass mod is not installed..

Thanks - unchecking Aero Glass did the trick, but also made the color darker. I might see if I can get a light brown color to match my desktop colors.

You can override the color that is used for the glass from the Menu Look tab.
