yes someone has, and pressing the button brings up metro UI from what i hear, but the windows key can still bring up CSM
its only been a few days

CS 3.9 beta on 8.1 preview x64. CS in "very classic XP" mode, via "classicthemes8". 8.1 "start button" on top of CS button, but XP button is wider and still active. IE 11 "Classic IE settings" add-on "unavailable". |

figured that would be the case, so you just have to have a bigger start button than windows until things get sorted out (or use the win hotkey)

The new beta build supports Windows 8.1. You should no longer see the original button behind the Classic Shell button. |

I installed this excellent product first thing (first product) in a new install of 8.1, 32 bit. The 8.1 was an upgrade. It has worked perfectly so far with all default Win 8.1 programs. Intel Dual core Pentium with 2 gb DDR 800. The start icon is perfectçy shaped, looks different enough to know something else is there, but familiar enough so if you are used to a different Windows, it just works and doesn't get in the way or be distracting. |

New to classic shell, using CS 3.9 beta on 8.1 preview x64. Intuitive from a new user's point of view. I noticed that you can right click the start button to exit Classic Shell and go back to Metro when needed. Probably a good idea that the Classic Shell button does not look too similar to the metro start button, since a new user may get confused. I was playing around and changed the start button images and actually confused myself. <haha> Wanted an easy way to re-enable Classic Shell so I created a shortcut to the Classic Shell Menu on my desktop. Maybe there is an easier way? The only thing that may be worth mentioning is that the IE and Windows Explorer icons pinned to the task bar had faint duplicate underlying images. I am not sure, but I think the ghost images happened when I was going back and forth between CS and Metro and pinned more icons to the taskbar via Metro App view. The ghost images persisted after a reboot then went away after deselecting and re-selecting options in the start button section of the CS menu. Thanks great program.

You do not need to exit Classic Shell to access Metro. Simply Shift+click on the start button. I have not seen the ghosting before. It's weird. |

Thank you. Yes Shift + Click is an easier method to access Metro. I figured out how to recreate the ghost images in the taskbar. It happens when I right click the CS start button and exit classic shell. Next when I move the IE or Win Explorer icons around in the taskbar I can see the ghost images underneath. Re-enabling classic shell normally set the icons back to normal. |

I am unable to reproduce this on 8.1 32-bit. Your screenshot doesn't show the start button. Is it just cropped out of the image? What happens to the button when the ghosts appear? Does it hide because it's afraid of ghosts? |

The latest 3.9.x RC and the upcoming stable release 4.0 fully and officially support Windows 8.1 RTM. |
