Post subject:  Question regarding Start Button padding/anchoring

Hi guys,

I repeatedly run into the situation where buttons are partially obscured by the edges of screen, and must be reduced in size in order to eliminate this clipping. Reducing button size is not always a desirable or ideal solution, and sometimes its very difficult to anticpate how a button will ultimately be displayed when making it.

It looks like buttons are anchored to the center of the task bar by default, rather than say, the bottom-left corner of buttons being anchored to the bottom-left of the screen. What I would prefer, at least for buttons that I've designed, is to have the button anchored to the bottom-left of the screen such that when its' size is increased, it expands upwards and rightwards, rather than expanding in all four directions which results in clipping of the image.

Is there a way to modify the way buttons are anchored to the taskbar in Classic Shell?

I would agree, as bottom is by far the most common task-bar orientation. However I think the choice to center it was intentional, as I have suggested this before. For now were stuck guessing about the offset (it helps to know the task-bar is about 40 pixels tall with default settings on a 1080p display)
