I installed Classic Shell for Windows 10 and want to use Classic Shell desktop Start Menu rather than the Metro start menu screen. How do I do this? Thank you

Assuming you installed the start menu, component it SHOULD work automatically. On your first click of the start button, it will prompt, asking which of the 3 classic shell menu's you want to start from.
Any further customizations can be done by right clicking the start button, and selecting settings.

Thank you for responding so quickly.

I have Classic Shell installed but the Windows 10 Metro screen is still there. When open the Classic Shell menu, I see in the list of items, at the top of the list "Start menu (Windows)" listed

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Classic Shell and get the same result

When I log on I get this first screen and if I right click on the windows icon on the bottom left, I get the second screen, But no Classic Shell desktop.

You are in tablet mode. Press the second to last icon on the right (between the battery and the keyboard) and turn off tablet mode.

Oh for Heaven's sake - I had a feeling it would be something so simple - New computer and user not familiar with Windows 10.
Can't thank you enough for your answer!
