anyway to get a Keyboard Shortcut Assign option to the Edit item settings for Classic Explorer, that would open a Submenu in the Button and could be navigated by keyboard arrows? |

Unfortunately, Microsoft does not allow keyboard shortcuts to invoke Explorer toolbar commands, buttons or submenus. |
