Is there anyway an option to display the old style Windows Update could be added as the new style is horrible and lacks functionality. Microsoft have already released a tool that lets you manually check for updates & lets you hide specific updates, but this is still not great. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/ ... ce=twitter |

No you are better off staying on earlier versions of Windows for full control over Windows Update. |

I've already upgraded to W10 as it's so much better than W8.1 on everything else apart from Windows Update! |

You should be able to just grab patches directly from Microsoft and manually install them rather than going through Windows Update. I had to do that myself for one of the patches that wasn't properly downloading. In theory, this means that it should be possible to cripple Windows Update and then install a third-party client to manage Windows patches instead. I dunno if there's anything reputable out there, I haven't looked that hard. |
