Are you dragging a folder to the Start Menu folder to pin? At the moment, those can't be shown as multi-column. ![]() |

if you add a New CustomItem to the Menu List, then Link to a Folder of your choice, Select an Icon of your Choice & select the "Multiple Columns" checkbox in the lower section, you will effectively have a 'pinned folder' with multiple columns you could do that with as many folders as you want to... not drag & drop, but pretty simple anyway Here is one method explained in detail, about How to create a folder called "Program Launcher" with multiple columns, intended to use in place of the annoying "Programs" folder, here: http://classicshell.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=327 |

I know that method, this is a feature request. I'd ike to have some pinned folder on top, and recent programs below. It's not possible with custom items. Yes, my folders are moved to start menu to pin |

i see.. so , for example, you want to 'pin to classic start menu' an entire folder of say, .docx files, possibly more than 100, and you'd like to just fly your mouse up there, and have it pop out in 6 columns across the screen? and because there are too many folders you want to pin, its not a good idea to pin to the right side? and Pinning to the left also gives you an extra columns worth of space as well and it would allow you to organize shortcuts & documents by type, in folders, and still have room to see the 'Recent Programs' i think the idea is cool, i second the motion to add multiple columns to the Pinned Start menu one potential solution for you might be to make "Recent Documents" a menu item, as shown here: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=337 another cool solution would be the ability to put in a separate 3rd column just for recent items |
