Is it possible to add a feature that will also allow the original win8.1 start menu to appear?

There is no original win8.1 start menu. There is a start screen. You can access it with Shift+click or Shift+Win key. It can be configured from the Classic Shell settings.

There is also a link inside the Classic Start Menu to open the Start screen

You can get to it by Shift+right-click. You can also toggle the setting "Right click opens the Windows context menu" to get to it by a simple right-click.
