Post subject: | Disable First Time Wizard on Terminalservers |
Hello, I already found the Admin part of the Help section and startet creating _Default values for a Proof of Concept Terminalserver with Classic Shell. What I still miss is a feature, which allows me to disable the First Time Wizard, that opens, when a users logs in for the first time. Is there a way to do that? Or will you integrate it? Best would be a setting in HKLM so it works for every user and not just a single session. Thank you for your help! |

If you are running Classic Shell 3.6.x, create a DWORD value called "ShowedStyle" in HKCU\Software\IvoSoft\ClassicStartMenu and set it to 1. If you are running Classic Shell 4, create a DWORD value called "ShowedStyle2" in HKCU\Software\IvoSoft\ClassicStartMenu and set it to 1. For the HKLM branch (which affects all users), the "MenuStyle" string value controls which style is enforced. MenuStyle_Default is not yet supported for HKLM branch in Classic Shell 4.0. Classic Shell 4.0.1 will also have the ability to suppress the initial opening of the settings from HKLM by merely changing the default setting without enforcing it for all users so you don't have to set "ShowedStyle2" per user. |

In Classic Shell 4.0.1 and later, you can suppress the initial popup for selecting the style. Create a new string value MenuStyle_Default in HKLM\Software\IvoSoft\ClassicStartMenu and set it to "Classic1", "Classic2" or "Win7" depending on which style you want to be the default. |
