After update to W10 Creator, the home screen would 'refresh' (rebuild) every ~3 seconds. Nearly impossible to use the PC as any command (or click) needed to be completed within this time (~3 secs).
CTRL-ALT-DEL about all that was do-able, and even then STOPPING a process (ClassicShell) was difficult.
Finally stopped and Problem stopped.

Uninstalled 4.3.0, rebooted and no problem.
Re-DL'ed, installed 4.3.0 and reboot and problem returned.

Uninstalled.

Been using CS since Win8, love it and hope you can fix.
thx

Try using the Classic Shell Utility to completely remove it including all Settings for all users: http://www.mediafire.com/download/3uker ... tility.exe Then re-install it.

The Windows 10 build upgrade process is defective and may not be successfully migrating everything correctly resulting in Explorer crashes. Microsoft is unable to fix it despite Windows 10 being around for so many years.

Your best option if you want a reliable operating system is Windows 7 or 8.1 with Classic Shell.

Re-installed 4.3.0.
Blinking started about 6 secs. after it finished.
Ran Uninstaller, Report below

Re-installed. Blinking started about 6 seconds later.
opened Task Manager and it required 10 or 12 "End Task"s to stop - or stop restarting.
It appeared to disappear from the process list and then re-appear, like the 'blinking' is Win reloading the desktop

Do you happen to have the IDT audio driver? It is known to be incompatible with the latest Windows 10.

The problem is the control panel applet in C:\Windows\System32\IDTNC64.cpl. Even without Classic Shell, Explorer will crash if you open the control panel.
You need to delete or rename that file.

My bad. I *had* IDT. Previous Win10 problem forced me to replace with Microsoft.
IDT does not appear in my Control Pannel and C:\Windows\System32\IDTNC64.cpl doesn't RUN.

Current driver is:
MS High Definition Audio Device HdAudio.sys 10.0.15063.0

Any other ideas ?

Then you need to capture a crash dump to see what is really going on. Instructions are at the top of this page.

Since Explored doesn't crash ran
d:procdump64 -n 10 -s 1 explorer.exe

ran several time with the same result -

[17:07:48] Timed:
[17:07:48] Dump 1 initiated: D:\explorer.exe_170711_170748.dmp
[17:07:49] Dump 1 complete: 10 MB written in 0.3 seconds
[17:07:51] The process has exited.
[17:07:51] Dump count not reached.

Zip file has 4 dumps.

Thanks

With my traskbar completely rewriting every 3 seconds, I'm guessing that counts as a 'crash'.

Ran
procdump64 -e explorer.exe

The crash is still in the IDTNC64.cpl file. Just delete it or rename it.
