I just installed the latest Windows 10 Technical Preview update (version 14352) and it killed Classic Shell and will not allow reinstallation. I tried the last 2 versions as well as the 4.2.5c beta. I get a "This aap can't run on this PC - Classic Shell Doesn't work on this version of Windows. Learn More" error. |

You need to install the latest beta 4.2.7. 4.2.5c is not a beta, and is not compatible with the Preview builds. |

Thanks! That solved the problem. I also sent a message to Microsoft blasting them for disabling the best Start menu solution with their update. Classic Shell must really burn their a$$e$. During the prerelease Tech preview, I kept telling them to simply roll the Start menu back to the Win7 code - they never listened. Thank God for Classic Shell or Win10 would have become another Win8. |
