Hi,

I'm running 4.2.5.

Classic Start Menu was working fine but recently it started doing this.

When I click on some applications in the Start Menu, Windows freezes for about 10 seconds and then the application runs.

I've had this problem on Windows 8.1 and after upgrading to Windows 10, the problem is still there.

I tried to uninstall it, remove settings from registry and then reinstall, no change.

The applications which I know are giving me this problem so far are: Steam, Origin, Uplay and µTorrent.

If I try to run them through regular Start Menu, they run fine. If I try to run them from their folders, they run fine.

You can download the dumps here -> https://db.tt/gwtVdpBI

Do you have any idea what might be causing this issue?

Thanks.

Best regards.

Creating the new process is taking a long time. Possibly some AV software is scanning the EXE? Try disabling the AV software temporarily.
You can also use a tool like Process Monitor to see what files are being accessed by the system during that time.

I tried to disable AV, no change.

There's lots of stuff in Process Monitor, not sure where to look.

Issue resolved by re-enabling the "AMD External Events Utility" service.
