I am happy to find it is not Classic shell but I had to consider all leads. Windows is wierd and wonderful these days. I live in hope.

I have been using Classic shell 4.2.1 in Windows 8.1 for much more than a year. Just lately I rearranged icons on my desktop but they returned to the previous state when I restarted. I do not know if this is Windows or Classic Shell problem. I remember once there was a way to allow Desktop icons to be automatically rearranged but I can find no mention of this anywhere in Windows. I have posted this here because there may be some problem between Windows and Classic Shell. Perhaps I have just not come across this before but I have added shortcuts to the desktop and rearranged them before. Ron |

This is a Windows problem, you can be 100% sure about that. Position or layout of desktop icons is not touched by Classic Shell. |
